Govt working to build skilled manpower: Sherif

PABNA, July 11, 2018 (BSS) – Land Minister Shamsur Rahman Sherif today
said the government is working sincerely to ensure sustainable development in
the country by creating skilled manpower.

“The government under the leadership of Prime Minister has taken various
initiatives to build mass people as skilled manpower,” he told a discussion
at Pabna Deputy Commissioner’s office on the occasion of the World Population
Day.

The Land Minister said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina never considered
the country’s population as a burden rather she addressed the population
growth with efficiently showing its capability worldwide.

“Our premier gets worldwide appreciation…she got the United Nation’s
award for the country’s remarkable achievement and attaining the Millennium
Development Goals (MDGs), including reduction of child mortality rate, and
also achieved South-South Award for using information technology in health
sector,” he said.

Referring to the country’s tremendous development in rural health sector,
Sherif said the incumbent government reopened 13,500 community clinics to
reach health services at the doorsteps of rural poor people.

“New more hospitals and nursing homes are being constructed across the
country,” he added.

The Land Minister urged all to come forward to build a developed
Bangladesh in line with the ‘Visio'” of the government.

Deputy Commissioner of Pabna Jasim Uddin presided over the meeting.
