900 cold-stricken people get blankets in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Jan 16, 2021 (BSS) – Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) with Dhaka Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DMCCI) distributed 900 blankets among cold-hit people in the city.

President of RCCI Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu with officials and executives of its board of directors distributed the blankets at a ceremony held on RCCI Public School and College ground in the city.

The RCCI jointly with DMCCI distributed the blankets among 900 cold-stricken poor and distressed people under their Corporate Social Responsibility programmes to mitigate their sufferings from the sweeping cold-wave.

Acting Convener of the Relief and Award Giving Management Sub-committee of RCCI and its Director Md. Obaidur Rahman Ratan presided over the function arranged maintaining the health directives in the wake of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Speaking on the occasion, the RCCI President expressed deep gratitude to the DMCCI authorities for extending their assistance to cold-stricken, poor, distressed and backward people of Rangpur metropolitan city.

He called upon different trade bodies, businesspersons, industrialists, charity and voluntary organisations as well as affluent people in the society to stand beside cold-hit people for mitigating their sufferings.

RCCI Directors Akbar Ali, Reaz Shahid Shovan, Ajay Prasad Babon, Ashraful Alam Al Amin, Partho Bose, Zulfiqar Aziz Khan Bhutto, Relief and Award Giving Management Sub-committee members Swapna Rani Sen and Tapan Sharma were present.
