Egyptian investors keen to invest in Bangladesh: Envoy

DHAKA, July 10, 2018 (BSS) – Egyptian ambassador in Dhaka, Walid Ahmed Shamseldin today said his country’s investors are keen to invest in Bangladesh, particularly in the power sector.

He said this while paying a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali at the ministry office here, said an official release.

They envo expressed his desire to work hard in strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Egypt, particularly in the areas of economic development, trade and investment, agriculture and tourism cooperation.

During the meeting, the foreign minister welcomed Shamseldin to Bangladesh and praised the remarkable progress of Egypt in the recent years.

Mahmood Ali intimated the ambassador about the opportunities of bilateral cooperation between Bangladesh and Egypt and affirmed Bangladesh’s continuous effort to deepen ties with Egypt.

Both sides stressed on high level visits with a view to further strengthening the existing bilateral relations.

The ambassador expressed his concern over the Rohingya issue while foreign minister appreciated the support and cooperation of Egypt on this crisis.

Besides, they discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest and hoped to continue supporting each other in the UN and other international bodies.

Mahmood Ali assured the Egyptian envoy of all out support in discharging his duties in Bangladesh.
