RANGPUR, July 10, 2018 (BSS) – Spreading of the information and communication technology (ICT)-based science education has become imperative to assist the young students in acquiring proper knowledge befitting for the 21st century.
Public representatives and officials expressed the view at a function arranged at Sadar upazila parishad auditorium here today for distribution of 170 laptops to the authorities of 170 government primary schools under sadar upazila.
Sadar Upazila Primary Education Office organised the function to distribute laptops for improving quality of primary education and enhancing skill of the primary school teachers in preparing digital contents.
Sadar Upazila Chairman and General Secretary of district unit of Jubo Mohila Awami League Nasima Zaman Boby attended the function as the chief guest.
With Sadar Upazila Primary Education Officer Akhterul Islam in the chair, Upazila Engineer Shamsul Arefin Khan and Assistant Upazila Primary Education Officer Abul Kalam Azad addressed the function as special guests.
The chief guest said the present Awami League (AL)-led government is working relentlessly to improve livelihoods and life standard of the common people.
“During tenure of the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, epoch-making successes have been achieved in every sector including agriculture, business, industry, health and communication and digitisation,” she said.
“But, the development achieved in the education sector is epoch-making. And so why, the present government should be called as an education-friendly government,” she mentioned.
She asked the teachers to become more attentive to teach the students using digitised ICT facilities to make various steps by the present government to modernize education at the primary, secondary, higher secondary and Madrasa levels.
Akhterul Islam directed the teachers to pay proper attention to their schools and academic activities for improving quality of primary education or to face action for any negligence and irregularity.
