MYMENSINGH, Nov 29, 2020 (BSS)- District administration today launched campaign with a slogan ‘Wear mask get service , no mask no service in nearly 30, 000 places for raising massive awareness for preventing further spread of COVID- 19 was held today .
The mask campaign began at 11 am in front of Divisional Commissioner’s office where masks and leaflets were distributed in 30,000 points in the district.
Divisional Commissioner Md, Quamrul Hassan formally inaugurated the campaign through distributing masks and leaflets among the cross sections of the people.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Mymensingh range, Barrister Harun or Rashid, Additional Divisional Commissioner AHM Lokman, Additional DIG Akkas uddin Bhuyia, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md, Mizanur Rahman , Additional Deputy Commissioner Jahangir Alam, Vice President of Mymensingh Press Club AZM Imam uddin Mukta, Secretary Omit Kumar Roy among others present .
Divisional Commissioner in his inaugural speech urged all to wear mask and to follow the health safety guidelines and other rules, set by the government .
DC said 13 upazilas of the district including 10 municipalities, educational institutions, clubs, religious institutions, local government bodies, non government organizations participated in the campaign with much enthusiasm .
They have distributed masks and leaflets in their own arrangement for building mass awareness about COVID 19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, Mayor of Mymensingh City Corporation Ekramul Hague Teto distributed masks in front of City Corporation office this morning.
Deputy Director of the Local Government Division Galib Khan, Chief Executive Officer of the City Corporation Anwar Hossain, Councilors and officials were present.
Besides, Zila Parisad organised a mask distribution programme in the office premises this morning.
The Chairman Yusuf Khan Pathan distributed masks and leaflets among the pedestrians.
Chief executive of Zila Parisad Lira Tarafder and other officials were present.
On the occasion Mymensingh Press Club also arranged a mask distribution programme in front of the club this noon.
Vice President of the Club AZM Imam uddin Mukta , Secretary Omit Roy , President of Mymensingh Union of Journalists (MUJ) Ataul Karim, Secretary Meer Golam Mustafa, fromer Secretary Mohiuddin Ahamed , Musharaf Hossen and other club members were present and distributed masks among the cross sections of the people.
