CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Oct 27, 2020 (BSS) – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested an alleged arms and drugs peddler with a revolver, two bullets and 515 grams of heroin from Shibganj in Chapainawabganj district last night.
The arrested person was identified as Md. Zohirul Islam, 33, of Namochakpara village under Shahbajpur union of Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj district.
RAB said, acting on a tip-off, an operation team of RAB-5 from Chapainawabganj camp raided a mango orchard at Pardilalpur village under Shahbajpur union of Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj district at around 7.20 pm and arrested Zahirul with the arms, ammunition and heroin.
Later, the arrested person was handed over to the police of Shibganj thana, RAB sources added.
A case was also lodged with the police station in this connection.
