KUSHTIA, Oct 26, 2020 (BSS) –Sharply criticizing the anti-liberation forces for making sweeping comments on the government decision of giving auto-promotion to the secondary level students, Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub Ul Alam Hanif today said in course of time the decision of auto-pass would be proved to be a forward looking step.

“The government’s auto promotion decision to the secondary level students during an unfavorable situation created due to global COVID-19 pandemic will once be proved to be a foresighted decision”, he said replying to a query made by the journalists while attending a view exchange meeting at his residence here.

Hanif said those, who are now talking about the auto-pass after the liberation war in 1972, had not participated in the liberation war and they had no role at all in the freedom struggle.

During the war, they (critics) had participated in the exams and proved their loyalty to Pakistan, said Hanif, adding that so the independence of the country was not cherished by them and at the same time the auto-pass during the war also had no acceptance to them.

Replying to the claim of BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir that Khaleda Zia is house arrest, the ruling party leader said Khaleda Zia is now free due to generosity shown by Sheikh Hasina. “The BNP leaders are not accepting the release of Khaleda Zia with due gratitude, rather they are creating misconception over the issue”, he added.
