Puja Udjapan Parishad leaders get masks from Gaibandha police

GAIBANDHA, Oct 23, 2020(BSS) – Leaders of Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad
(BPCP) here got masks from district police on Thursday.

The 5-day long Durga puja has begun across the country with festivity and
religious fervor yesterday amid coronavirus pandemic.

The government advised the devotees to come out of the house and visit the
puja mandaps wearing masks and follow health guidelines to check the spread
of COVID-19 in the country.

To encourage the devotees to use masks during the visit to puja mandaps,
the district police donated 500 pieces of quality mask to the leaders of
BPCP, district unit.

Superintendent of police (SP) Muhammad Towhidul Islam, on behalf of the
district police, formally handed over the masks to general secretary of BPCP,
district unit, Dipak Kumar Paul at SP’s office of the town here.

Officer-in-charge of Sadar Thana Khan Mohammad Shahriar was present on the
occasion.

Receiving the masks, Paul thanked the SP and expressed his gratefulness to
the district police for standing beside with them by providing masks to check
the spread of coronavirus in the district.

Talking to the BSS, Paul said they urged the devotees to strictly maintain
the health guidelines and directives issued by the government in the wake of
the global pandemic during the Durga Puja celebration.
