CCC to feed vitamin A+ capsules to 5.33-lakh babies

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 30, 2020 (BSS) – Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) has set a target to feed Vitamin-A plus capsules to 5-lakh 33 thousands babies aged from 5 to 59 months in the city during a National vitamin ‘A’ plus campaign on Sunday.

All preparations have been completed in this regard as the campaign will begin at 8 am in all 41 wards of the city in a combined manner.

Of those, around 81,500 children aged between six months to 11 months will be given blue-coloured capsules of high powered Vitamin ‘A’ and four lakhs 52 thousands children aged between one year to five year will be given red-coloured capsules of high- powered Vitamin A through 288 centres in 41 wards.

This was disclosed by the Chief Medical officer of CCC Dr. Selim Akhter Chowdhury at a press conference arranged at CCC General Hospital today.

The press conference was told that CCC administrator Khurshed Alam Sujan will formally inaugurate the campaign on Sunday.

Besides, 20 mobile medical teams of CCC will also conduct Vitamin–A plus capsule campaign at bus terminals, railway stations, launch stations and Shah Amanat and kalurghat bridge points.

Senior CCC health officers and its concerned high officials among others were present in the press conference.

Dr Selim sought cooperation from media for making the Vitamin-A plus Campaign a success.
