NARAIL, Sept 30, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 94,255 babies aged from 6 months to 5 years will be administered vitamin A plus capsules during a national campaign to be held in three upazilas — Sadar, Lohagora and Kalia – here on Sunday.
Under the national campaign of vitamin A plus, the blue colour capsules will be fed to 11,685 babies’ aged from six months to 11 months and the red colour capsules to 82,570 children aged from one to five years, civil surgeon office sources said.
Some 2,505 field level health workers, volunteers and supervisors have been tasked with providing capsules to babies at 992 centres in 39 unions and two pouroshavas to make the programme successful, they said.
The information was disclosed today at a press briefing in civil surgeon conference room here.
Civil surgeon Dr. Abdul Momen at the media briefing said the campaign will begin at the selected centres and also the bus stands and floating places at 8:00 which will continue till 4:00 pm.
Dr Anindita Ghos, Dr. Shafiq Tamal, Narail Press Club president Enamul Kabir Tuku, its former vice-president Sultan Mahmood, health department official Mollah Forkan Ali, district EPI superintendent Haradhan Chandra Majumder were present on the occasion.
