NARSINGDI, Sept-26 (BSS)- A driver was killed and 25 others were injured when a passenger bus and a microbus collided head on at Jamtola area under Shibpur upazila of the district on Friday night .
The victim was identified as Nazim Uddin 25, driver of the microbus and an inhabitant of Bajitpur upazila of Kishorganj district.
Police and eyewitnesses said the accident occurred when a Monohardi bound bus from Dhaka hit another Dhaka bound microbus at Jamtola area at around 9 pm last night reportedly by poor visibility for heavy downpour .
Both the bus and microbus plunged into the road side ditch following the accident .
On receipt the information, highway police, fire service and locals rushed to the spot and rescued the microbus driver who died on the spot.
The injured passengers of both bus and microbus were sent to Narsingdi zila and sadar hospitals .
Officer in-charge of Shibpur thana Azizul Ismail said the driver of the passenger bus was among the injured.
Shibpur thana police seized both the vehicles and a case was filed in this connection .
