Gaibandha, Kurigram’s 34,050 poor families get vegetable seeds, saplings

GAIBANDHA, Sept 18, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 34050 poor families of
Gaibandha and Kurigram districts get vegetable seeds and saplings of fruit
bearing trees free of cost.

Sustained Opportunities for Nutrition Governance (SONGO) project being
implemented by RDRS Bangladesh and ICCO Cooperation with the financial
support of European Union is distributing those aimed at fulfilling
nutritional demand and maintaining ecological balance.

On the occasion, an inaugural function was held on the premises of Daripur
Hazi Osman Gani Degree College under sadar upazila in the district with
Aminurzaman Rinku, chairman of Ghagoa union parishad, in the chair on
Thursday afternoon.

Muhammad Ali, additional director (AD) of the department of agricultural
extension (DAE), Rangpur region addressed as the chief guest and deputy
director of the DAE, Gaibandha Masudur Rahman was present as the special
guest.

A large number of people from all walks of life, public representatives,
local elite, invited persons, teachers, students, NGO workers were present on
the occasion.
