KHULNA, Aug 15, 2020 (BSS) – The total number of COVID-19 patients in
Khulna division rose to 15,602 as 218 more positive cases were reported in
the past 24 hours.
A total of 10,513 patients have so far recovered from the lethal virus, a
health official said.
“As many as 218 people were reported COVID-19 positive as 282 samples were
tested at Khulna Medical College (KMC) in the past 24 hours,” Assistant
Director (Health) of Khulna division Dr. Ferdousi Akhter told BSS today.
The health official said among the fresh cases, 47 are in Khulna, 45 in
Kushtia, 45 in Chuadanga, 25 in Jhenaidah, 36 in Satkhira,17 in Meherpur, two
in Narail and one in Jashore under the division.
A total of 286 people in the division died from the pandemic after COVID-
19 cases were detected on March 8, Ferdousi said adding, currently, the total
fatality rate in the division is 1.69 percent.
