Tree plantation vital for ecological balance – Khasru

NETRAKONA Aug 12, 2020 (BSS)— State minister for Social Welfare Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru today said tree plantation is imperative to intensification of the country’s forest resources for protecting ecological balance and achieving economic growth.

“Plantation of tree saplings in and around every house and all the desolated lands is essential to increase the coverage of our forest resources across the country for keeping the ecological balance and protecting the bio-diversity as well as boosting the country’s economy” he said.

Khasru stated this while he was inaugurating tree plantation programme, chalked out by Netrakona public library and Mitali Sangha to mark the birth centenary of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Khasru planted over a dozen of saplings of different species of trees including fruit-bearing and medicinal trees on the premises of Netrakona public library and Mitali Sangha office Deputy commissioner Netrakona Kazi Abdur Rahman,

Superintendent of police , Netrakona Akber Ali Munshi and office bearers of the library and Mitali Sangha were present on the occasion.
