MANIKGANJ, Aug 8, 2020 (BSS) –Two persons including an infant were
killed and three others injured in an accident on Manikganj–Hemayetpur
Regional High Way on Friday night.
The deceased were identified as Ashraf Khan (50), son of Asalat khan
of village Mitora under Manikganj Sadar upazila of the district and
Abdullah (8), son of Abdul Jalil of village Bortala under Sripur
upazila of Magura district.
Quoting locals Abul Kalam, Officer-in-Charge (OC), Investigation,
Singair said the accident occurred at about 8 pm when a Savar bound
pickup van collided head on with a Manikganj bound motor cycle. The
pickup van felt into the road side canal with all of its passengers.
Though all the passengers of the van were able to climb to the road,
but child Abdullah was missing. After two hours searching Fire Service
workers cooperation with the locals rescued the body of Abdullah.
While Ashraf Khan, motor cycle rider was rushed to Savar Enam Medical
College hospital, where the duty doctor declared him death.
The serious injured was sent to Dhaka Pongu Hospital.
Abul Kalam also said the bodies of the deceased are at hospital adding
that a case was filed with Singair Police Station.
