Holy Eid-ul-Azha celebrated in West Bengal with festivity

KOLKATA, Aug 2, 2020 (BSS) – The Muslim community of the West Bengal in India celebrated the holy Eid-ul Azha, the second biggest religious festivals of Muslim Ummah, on Saturday with festive moods.

Amid the restriction during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Muslim community people exchanged greetings with other community people irrespective of their religions.

The muslim devotees have carefully performed their ‘qurbani’ being inspired with the ideology of sacrifice this year due to the pandemic.

The Muslim leaders advised the community members to distribute sacrificial animals’ meat among family members and close relatives.

The main Eid congregation was held at Eidgah Maidan on Red Road in Kolkata. Several Jamaats were held at the Eidgah Maidan by maintaining strict social distance.

The Eid Jamaats were also held in Kolkata’s Nakhoda Masjid, Tipu Sultan Mosque, Kalighat ground, Kidhirpur, Rajabazar and Park Circus.
