SAVAR, July 29, 2020 (BSS) – The Cyber Crime Awareness and Networking Society (CAN-Society) of Jahangirnagar University (JU) has organised a research-based competition to increase cyber security involving knowledge among the students.
The competition titled “Reve Antivirus presents Cyber Quest-2020” was held on July 09 to July 27.
About 22 teams consisting of 66 students from both first and second year of the university participated in the competition. The top three teams were awarded certificates, prize money, Cocoalab Chocolate coupon & Reve Antivirus total Security Licences for a maximum three years after completing the competition.
Founder of CAN Society Md. Shariare Islam handed over the awards among the winners of the competition at the grand finale held on July 27.
Professor Dr Mesbahuddin Sarker and Assistant Prof KM Akkas Ali of Institute of Information Technology (IIT), Deputy General Manager (marketing) of Reve Antivirus Ibnul Karim Rupen, Lecturer of Daffodil University Tajim Md Niamat Ullah Akhund and CEO at Nupu IT & Head of Marketing at Cocoalab Chocolate Sayma Tasneem Hira were present, among others, in the grand finale.
Speaking about the aim of organising the competition, Md. Shariare Islam said, “CAN Society has arranged an online research competition based on the present State of cyber-crime of Bangladesh to create awareness about cyber security. It also helps the people to maximize their data security by finding the solution to mitigate cyber-crime in our country. We believe that awareness is the first step to mitigate the risk of cyber-crime.”
