CHATTOGRAM, July 28, 2020 (BSS) – Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested six members of an ‘Agyaan Party’ (doping gang) for snatching CNG auto rickshaws in the port city.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (South) Shah Muhammad Abdur Rauf in a press conference informed media about the arrest today.
Noble Chakma, assistant commissioner of Kotwali Zone, Mohammad Mohsin, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Thana, and Inspector (Investigation) Kamruzzaman were present at the press conference.
The arrested persons were identified as Abu Tahir Rocky, 30, Md. Siraj, 55, Md. Mozammal Haque Russell, 28, Kazi Nazrul Islam alias Faisal, 30, Md. Azizul Haque, 45, Md. Rashed alias Sohail, 28.
Mohammad Mohsin said a CNG run auto rickshaw was looted from Mound Hospital of Sarson Road after the driver was made unconscious in the evening of July 20.
Acting on a tip off, eight members of the gang were arrested from different parts of the city on Monday night.
