10 pharmacies fined Tk 40,000 in Rangpur

RANGPUR, July 22, 2020 (BSS) – A mobile court initiated by Rangpur Office of the Drug Administration in an anti-adulteration drive seized huge date-expired medicines and fined 10 pharmacies Taka 40,000 in the city on Tuesday night.

Executive Magistrate of Rangpur district administration Md. Mahmud Hasan Mridha led the mobile court with assistance of members of Bangladesh Army and officials of the Drug Administration at two medicine markets in Paira Square area of the city.

During the drive, the mobile court seized huge quantities of date-expired and unapproved medicines, fake hand sanitizers and health protection materials from 10 pharmacies in the two markets and fined the owners concerned Taka 40,000.

Assistant Director at Rangpur Office of the Drug Administration Md. Tauhidul Islam and other officials concerned were present.
