SATKHIRA, July 15, 2020 (BSS) – Satkhira sadar upazila Awami League (AL) president valiant freedom fighter M Abul Khayer died at his own residence here last night at the age of 77.
He had been suffering from old age complications, family sources said.
Khayer, also Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee’s district president and former five time elected chairman of Fingri Union, was buried at his family graveyard following a namaj-e-janaza on the Gava Ideal College premises after johr prayer.
Earlier, he was awarded a ‘guard of honour’ at around 12 pm.
Former Health and Family Welfare Minister and lawmaker of Satkhira-3 Dr AFM Ruhul Huq as well as other local leaders expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Abul Khayer.
