KHULNA, July 13, 2020 (BSS) – Khulna City Corporation (KCC) has received various health protective gears at Nagor Bhaban conference room here today morning to prevent community transmission of (Covid-19).
The local Government Department in collaboration with the DFID (Department for International Development) and UNDP handed over the health safety gears to the Mayor of Khulna City Corporation Talukder Abdul Khaleque under KCC’s marginalized population development project.
The health protective gears are 38 digital thermometers, 38 infrared thermometers, 35 kg disinfectant, 70 hand dry rolls, 576 surgical masks, 382 N-95 masks, 64 hand sanitizers (100 ml) and 64 hand sanitizers (200 ML).
While receiving the health care equipment, the city mayor said the government is working to improve the quality of healthcare. Everyone should be alert so that no one can cheat with the treatment of coronavirus in Khulna.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is doing everything to prevent Covid-19 he said adding that “The government as well as everyone else needs to work to prevent coronavirus. Everyone’s safety is in his hands. The government is working to improve the living standards of the people of the country”.
KCC’s Chief Planning Officer and Project Member Secretary Abir-ul-Jabbar, Chief Health Officer Dr. Md. Abdullah, Town Manager of Marginalized Living Development Project Md. Mostafa Mia, among others, were present the function.
Meanwhile, Mayor Abdul Khaleque distributed foodstuffs among 300 distressed and jobless workers here today to mitigate their sufferings rendered by the COVID-19 pandemic.
City mayor distributed foodstuffs including rice, pulses, salt, potatoes, soaps among 300 jobless workers at ward no 19, 24 and 26 in the city by the initiative of China Harbor Engineering Company Limited strictly following health safety guidelines.
General Secretary of Khulna City Awami League (AL) MDA Babul Rana, ward councillor’s, among others, were present during the distribution of food items.
