ACC summons six officials of CMSD

DHAKA, July 12, 2020 (BSS) – The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC)
today summoned six officials of Central Medicine Store Depot (CMSD) of
the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The ACC summoned the officials in a notice signed by its director
Mir Md Jainul Abedin Shibly, said a press release.

The officials were Dr Md Shahjahan, former assistant director
(Store and Distribution) and incumbent assistant director
(Administration), CMSD; Dr Sabbir Ahmed, former desk officer-8 and
additional duty on store, CMSD, Dhaka; Kabir Ahmmed, store officer,
CMSD, Dhaka; Md Yusuf Fakir, senior storekeeper, CMSD, Dhaka; Dr Md
Zakir Hossain, deputy director and P&C, CMSD, Dhaka; and Dr Ziaul
Haque, former medical officer (chief coordinator), CMSD, Dhaka.

Of them, the first three have been asked to appear before the ACC
on July 19 and others on July 20.

According to the notice, the ACC needs to hear and accept
statements of the officials for the sake of investigation as there are
allegations that they are involved in various irregularities,
corruption and abuse of power in the name of procuring substandard
masks, PPEs and other health equipment for the treatment of Covid-19.
