DHAKA, July 11, 2020 (BSS) – Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim today said veterinary health care teams will work to stop sale of sick and unsuitable sacrificial animals ahead of the Eid-ul-Azha.
He made the remark online at the inaugural session of ‘Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Digital Hat’, an online cattle marketing platform for Qurbani, from his official residence on Baily Road in the capital as the special guest.
The minister said the country has the required supply of cattle for Quarbani, so the import of sacrificial animals will not be needed.
He said: “We are all working together under the direction of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to maintain our lives and livelihoods amid the corona situation ahead of the Eid.”
Rezaul thanked the Dhaka City Corporation, Information and Communication Technology Division and all concerned agencies involved in the digital hat process to enable people celebrate their Eid amid the corona crisis.
On behalf of his ministry, he assured all concerned of providing all kinds of assistance in this regard.
DNCC Mayor Md Atiqul Islam presided over the virtual function while Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Md Tajul Islam, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Dhaka Divisional Commissioner Mustafizur Rahman and Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) President Sheikh Fazle Fahim also took part in the event, among others, as the discussants.
