Dr. Md Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal joins as Defence Secretary

DHAKA, July 7, 2020 (BSS)- Dr Md Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal today joined as Secretary of the Ministry of Defence.

He was welcomed at the office by the Additional Secretary of the Ministry Selina Haque, Dr Md Mahmud-ul-Haq, Md. Safiqul Ahmed and Joint Secretary (Works and Development) Brigadier General Md Mahfuz Alam, said a press release.

Later, he attended an introductory meeting with officials of different levels in the conference room of the ministry following the hygiene rules.

Prior to joining the ministry, he performed as the secretary of the Culture Ministry.

During his career, he served in various capacities including Assistant Secretary, Senior Assistant Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Joint Secretary, Private Secretary to the Minister in the Ministry of Industry, Special Affairs Department, Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts, Ministry of Labor and Employment, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Education, Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment, said the release.

He also served in the embassy of Bangladesh abroad for 5 years.
Dr Mustafa Kamal also received various trainings at home and abroad for the development of professional skills including higher education, added the release.

He received his PhD from the Netherlands for his research on eco-tourism.

Apart from these, the newly appointed Defence Secretary is also known as a successful children organizer, popular travel story writer, tourism researcher, and has also written short stories, novels and juvenile literature.
