NEW DELHI, June 22, 2020 (BSSS) – One staff member of Bangladesh mission in New Delhi has tested Covid-19 positive that prompted the authorities to further strengthen necessary precautionary measures as per advice of the local authorities.

The staff member is living with his family on Bangladesh mission premises in New Delhi’s Chanakyapuri area.

The Covid-19 case has also prompted the mission authority to issue an order asking most of the officers and other staff members to work from home and come to office as required.

“We advised most of the officers and other members of staff to work from home and come to office if necessary following related safety measures,” Mohammad Imran, Bangladesh High Commissioner in New Delhi, told BSS this morning.

When his attention was drawn on media report whether the office is declared closure for the next 10 days for sanitizing the mission premises, he said, “The office is open and all regular routine activities are going on”.

The envoy, however, said all communication channels are open to communicate with the mission officials.

Besides, he advised all service seekers to contact the high commission through mail and other methods avoiding physical presence.

“In cases of emergency, one can visit the high commission with prior appointment,” he added.
