Murad mourns death of Mohammed Nasim

DHAKA, June 13, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for Information Dr Md Murad Hassan today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Awami League (AL) presidium member, 14-party alliance spokesperson and former health minister Mohammed Nasim.

In a condolence message, he prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.

Mohammed Nasim breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Bangladesh Specialized Hospital in city’s Shyamoli area today at the age of 72, his personal assistant Ashraful Alam Mintu told BSS.

He left behind wife, three sons, a host of relatives and admirers.

Nasim was elected Member of Parliament (MP) in 1986, 1996 and 2001. He was later elected MP in 2014 and was sworn in as the Minister for Health and Family Welfare on January 12 in 2014.

As an elected MP of the current parliament, he was the chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Food Ministry.

Earlier, in the tenure of 1996 government, he had successfully served as the Minister for Home Affairs, Housing and Public Works and Posts and Telecommunications.
