Netherlands reports 3 new coronavirus deaths
THE HAGUE, June 8, 2020 (BSS/XINHUA) — The number of deaths from the novel coronavirus in the Netherlands has increased by three since Sunday to a total of 6,016, the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) said on Monday.
The country’s daily coronavirus figures continue to be low, compared to the peak of the crisis. The first infection in the Netherlands was confirmed on Feb. 27 this year and the first COVID-19 death was reported on March 6.
The number of confirmed positive tests grew by 165 to a total of 47,739 between June 4 and June 8. Five more people have been hospitalized, bringing the total number of those who require treatment in a medical facility to 11,794. while the amount of people who are or were admitted to hospital increased by 5 to a total of 11,794.
