RAJSHAHI, June 7, 2020 (BSS)- Bangladesh Awami League (AL) and its front organizations today observed the Historic Six-Point Demand Day paying rice tributes to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
To mark the day, Rajshahi city unit of the party placed wreaths on the portraits of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the four national leaders in front of the party office and paid glowing tributes .
City unit president of AL and Mayor of Rajshahi AHM Khairuzzaman Liton flanked by other front-ranking leaders and activists placed wreaths following health safety guidelines and social distancing .
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Liton termed the Six-Point demand as the charter of freedom of Bangalees saying Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had proclaimed the Six-Point to prepare the whole nation and stimulate the thoughts of the people for achieving the independence of the country.
He said in fact, Bangabandhu had first realized that it was not possible to establish the rights of the Bangalee nation without being independent from the Pakistani regime .
