KCC mayor distributes foodstuffs, money among 800 destitute people

KHULNA, June 7, 2020 (BSS) – Mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Talukder Abdul Khaleque distributed foodstuffs and cash money among 800 distressed, needy and jobless people yesterday to mitigate their sufferings rendered by the COVID-19 pandemic.

City mayor distributed 25 mounds of rice, Taka 20,000 and others relief materials among 200 needy, jobless workers and destitute people of 29 No ward area in the city by strictly following social distance.

Each of the beneficiaries received a sac containing 5-kg rice and Taka 100 for purchasing other essentials as a part of the government’s instant humanitarian support programme.

Later, the mayor dispensed 75 mounds of rice, cash Taka 60,000 and others relief materials among 600 needy and destitute people at 30, 31 and 22 No wards in the city to mitigate their financial hardship amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation at an initiative by Khulna City Awami League.

General Secretary of Khulna city Awami League MDA Babul Rana, President of Khulna Union of Journalist Munshi Mahbub Alam Sohag and word councilors, among others, accompanied the mayor.
