DCCI opens SME Development Department to help entrepreneurs

DHAKA, June 4, 2020 (BSS) – Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry
(DCCI) has opened a separate ‘SME Development Department’ to help its members of cottage, micro, small and medium enterprises (CMSMEs) sector.

The new department has been operational since June 1, said a DCCI press release issued today.

“DCCI, the largest SME representative trade organization in the country, has been working relentlessly for the development of cottage, micro, small and medium enterprises (CMSMEs) for more than six decades,” said the release.

The government of Bangladesh has already announced stimulus packages for the development of affected CMSMEs amid the coronavirus pandemic, it added.

But there may be a few affected small entrepreneurs who might be deprived of this stimulus fund for not completing proper documentation processes.

Considering the issue, DCCI will guide its CMSME members through this department by providing necessary information to prepare proper documentation processes needed for getting stimulus from banks and give other related advisory services.

To make Bangladesh’s economy stronger and to recover it from the coronavirus pandemic crisis, it is essential to give especial consideration to the CMSME sector. DCCI thus takes the initiative to facilitate its CMSME based members so that they can avail of the stimulus which the government has allocated and accordingly can contribute to the sustainable economic resilience, the press release said and requested all concerned to contact – 65-66, Motijheel C/A, Dhaka-1000, www.dhakachamber.com.
