82.73pc SSC candidates pass in Dinajpur Board

RANGPUR, May 31, 2020 (BSS) – The average pass percentage of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations-2020 in Dinajpur Education Board (DEB) stood at 82.73 against 84.10 pass percentage last year.

The board authority published the results of the SCC Examinations-2020 by adopting digitised technology on the online in the wake of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

“A total of 1,91,821 candidates of 123 schools appeared in the SCC examinations-2020, and of them, 1,58,685 came out successful with the pass percentage of 82.73 this year,” said Controller of Examinations of DEB Professor Md. Tofazzur Rahman.

A total of 98,833 boys and 92,988 girls appeared in the SCC Examinations this year under the board.

“Of them, 81,794 SCC candidates appeared in the examination from the science group, 1,05,528 from the humanities group and 4,499 candidates from the business studies group in the education board this year,” he said.

The pas percentages stand at 94.76 in the science group, 73.48 in the humanities group and 80.62 in the business studies group.

A total of 12,086 students, including 6,326 boys and 5,760 girls secured GPA-5 in the board this year.

Of them, 2,851 SSC candidates secured GPA-5 in Rangpur, 2,834 in Dinajpur, 1,648 in Gaibandha, 1,472 in Nilphamari, 1,173 in Thakurgaon, 1,092 in Kurigram, 557 in Panchagarh and 459 in Lalmonirhat districts under the education board this time.

A total of 1,91,821 candidates, including 98,831 boys and 92,998 girls appeared in the SSC examinations-2020 at 271 examination centres in all eight districts of Rangpur division under the Dinajpur Education Board this year.

“The pass percentage of the female candidates stands at 84.32 against the pass percentage of 81.22 percent for the boys this year in the board,” Rahman added.

Cent percent of the SCC candidates from 122 schools passed while none came out successful from only one school in Dinajpur Education Board this year.
