MCCI holds memorial meeting, doa mahfil for Niloufer Manzur

DHAKA, May 30, 2020 (BSS) – Speakers at a commemorative meeting said
Niloufer Manzur was solemnly remembered after her demise for her outstanding
contributions to nation building through providing education to young leaders
of the future.

Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) organized the meeting
and doa mahfil virtually on Friday afternoon to pay tribute to late renowned
educationist and founding Principal of Sunbeams School Niloufer Manzur, said
a press release today.

A large number of MCCI members and its former presidents, business
leaders, friends, colleagues, admirers and well-wishers, and family members
joined the doa mahfil.

MCCI President Nihad Kabir in her reminiscence paid hearty tributes to
Niloufer as a great nation-builder, whose legacy would be carried forth by
her innumerable students imbued with her teachings of humility and dedication
to build a better and brighter future for the country.

Former commerce minister Tofail Ahmed, MP, Prime Minister’s private
industry and investment affairs adviser Salman F Rahman, MP, International
Chamber of Commerce president Mahbubur Rahman, managing director of Square
Pharmaceutical Tapan Chowdhury and MCCI vice president Anis A Khan, among
others, spoke on the occasion.

They said Niloufer was an icon of humility and amiable with all around.
She was a true human being and a legend in her lifetime, they added.

Her son Syed Nasim Manzur recalled his mother’s devotion to family,
education, patriotism and sense of responsibility. He thanked all for their
gracious participation and requested to pray for the salvation of the
departed soul.

All participants prayed for late Niloufer Manzur as well as for the
country, including all who had passed away during this COVID-19 period.

Niloufer Manzur, wife of MCCI’s former president Syed Manzur Elahi,
breathed her last on May 26 at Combined Military Hospital, Dhaka.
