BGB, BSF exchange Eid greetings on Hili border

HILI, Dinajpur, May 26, 2020 (BSS) – Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Indian Border Security Force (BSF) exchanged greetings on the border here on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Fitr festivity on Monday evening.

Basudebpur BGB Camp Commander Chand Mian and Indian Hili BSF Company Commander Jagdis Prasad exchanged greetings by handing over sweets on behalf of the two forces at Bottoli point of Hili border.

A brief ceremony was arranged on the occasion strictly maintaining physical distancing to prevent spreading of coronavirus (COVID-19) infection.

Talking to local reporters, Basudebpur BGB Camp Commander Chand Mian said the sweets were gifted to each other on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Fitr in both countries.

“Both BGB and BSF always greet each-other with sweets and gift items on the occasions of different religious and national festivals of the two neighbouring countries,” he said.

Such a custom has been going on between the two friendly border guards for a long time.

“This kind of practice helps further strengthen friendly relations between the two border guards working along the common international borders to maintain peace and tranquility,” he added.
