CHATTOGRAM, May 26, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 179 more people tested positive
for coronavirus after testing 380 samples in the two Covid-19 laboratories on
Eid day in the district, sources said.
With this, the total number of COVID-19 patients rose to 1889 only in
Chattogram district, they said.
Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, Civil Surgeon of Chattogram told BSS that 177 more
new COVID-19 patients were identified at Chattogram Medical College Hospital
(CMCH) after testing 325 samples on Eid day.
Meanwhile, only two new COVID-19 patients were identified at BITID,
Chattogram after testing 55 samples during the time, he said.
He added that among the 179 corona positives patients, 167 are from port
city and 12 are residents of different upazilas of the district.
No corona patients were detected at CVASU lab as test activities were
stopped on Eid day there.
So far, 58 people died of COVID-19 in Chattogram district and 179 persons
were released after treatment from the hospital in the same time, sources
said.
