DHAKA, Aug 22, 2017 (BSS) – Complainant Selina Islam Beauty hailed the High Court verdict over murder of her husband Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) councilor Nazrul Islam and six others.
Expressing her immediate reaction after the verdict, she said, “We are satisfied as they (killers) have got appropriate punishment for their misdeeds and now we want quick implementation of the verdict.”
The High Court this afternoon upheld death sentences of 15 convicts including Noor Hossain, the main accused in the 7-murder cases, dismissed RAB officials Lt Col Tareque Sayeed Mohammad, Maj Arif Hossain and Lt Commander SM Masud Rana.
It also commuted death sentences handed down to another 11 people by a trial court, to life imprisonment.
