KUSHTIA, May 23, 2020 (BSS) – Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary and
ruling party lawmaker from Kushtia Sadar constituency Mahbubul Alam Hanif
today said the government will provide all kinds of assistance to the victims
of the super cyclonic storm ‘Amphan’ as per their requirement.
“The government issued an instruction emphasizing on rehabilitating the
people affected by the cyclone. They (victims of cyclone) will get all kinds
of assistances as per their requirement in this regard,” he said while
distributing relief goods among the destitute and cyclone affected people at
Bottail union here.
Hanif said the super cyclonic storm ‘Amphan’ caused severe damage in
different parts of Jashore, Chuadanga and Kushtia, the country as well as in
the West Bengal of India.
Kushtia Deputy Commissioner Md Aslam Hossain, Superintendent of Police SM
Tanvir Arafat and Bottoil Union Parishad Chairman Momin Mandol were present
on the occasion, among others.
On May 21, the super cyclone damaged Boro paddy on one hectare of land and
a number of banana, mango and litchi orchards in the district.
