DHAKA, May 22, 2020 (BSS)-Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road
Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said the post-Amphan
rehabilitation activities have been started under the supervision of Prime
Minister Sheikh Hasina.

“We are now facing two challenges… Prevention and treatment of the novel
coronavirus and assistance and rehabilitation of cyclone Amphan-hit victims.
Rehabilitation activities have been started already under the supervision of
the premier,” he said.

He said this in a video conference from his official residence before
distributing Eid gift items among the helpless poor people at the initiative
of Swechchhasebak League and Chhatra League on Madhur Canteen Dhaka
University premises here.

The armed forces, police administration and other voluntary organizations
are carrying out rehabilitation activities including rescue operations, he
said, adding that especially the Army, Navy and Air Force have been
conducting rescue and rehabilitation activities and providing medical
assistance to the people and also repairing embankments in the affected
areas.

Mentioning that the struggle for survival is the biggest challenge for
people rather than celebrating the joy of Eid, Quader said: “This time Eid-

Lauding the relief activities of the leaders and workers of Awami League

stand by the helpless and needy people before observing the holy Eid.

“Leaders and activists of the Awami League and its affiliated organizations
have set a rare example of relief efforts in the corona crisis,” he said.

Bangladesh Swechchhasebak League president Nirmal Ranjan Guha and general
secretary Afzal Babu, Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) president Al Nahian
Khan Joy and general secretary Lekhak Bhattacharya were present, among
