KCC mayor distributes foodstuffs, money among 2,328 destitute people

KHULNA, May 18, 2020 (BSS) – Mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Talukder Abdul Khaleque distributed foodstuffs and cash money among 2,328 distressed, needy and jobless people yesterday to mitigate their sufferings rendered by the COVID-19 pandemic.

City mayor distributed 332 mounds of rice and others relief materials among 1,900 needy, jobless workers and destitute people in 1,3,4,5 and 6 no ward’s area of the city on behalf of State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Munnujan Sufian. Each of the beneficiaries received a sac containing 7-kg rice, potato, onion, soya-bin oil, pulse, soaps and iodized salt.

General Secretary of Khulna city Awami League MDA Babul Rana, it’s vice-president Beg Liakat Ali, Director of Khulna Divisional Labor Directorate Md. Mizanur Rahman, Panel Chairman of Khulna Zila Parishad Md. Sajjadur Rahman Linkon, word councillors’, among others, accompanied the mayor.

Later, the mayor dispensed 75 mounds of rice, cash Taka 42,800 and others relief materials among 428 needy and destitute people at 25 no ward in the city aimed at mitigating their financial hardship amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.

Each of the beneficiaries received a sac containing 7-kg rice and Taka 100 for purchasing other essentials as a part of the government’s instant humanitarian support programme.
