Mashrafe’s bracelet sold at Tk. 42-lakh

DHAKA, May 18, 2020 (BSS)—Mashrafe Bin Mortaza’s bracelet, which the former Bangladesh skipper termed as his most favourite thing, was sold for whopping Tk. 42 lakh during an auction.

‘Auction 4 Action’ which organized the auction through their facebook page, confirmed it in a post in their social media outlet. The base price of the bracelet that witnessed Mashrafe’s ups and downs in his career and memorable victories of Bangladesh was fixed at Tk. 5 lakh.

Bangladesh Leasing and Finance Company Association (BLFCA) was announced as winner after highest bidding.

BLFCA’s bid was Tk. 40 lakh but IPDC extended their help to increase the value for 5 percent and later the price stood at Tk. 42 lakh.

The money, raised from the auction will be spent for the Coronavirus affected people through Mashrafe’s ‘Narail Express Foundation.”

However after buying product, the winning company gave Mashrafe the bracelet as a gift.

“Thanks all, who bided for the item,” Mashrafe said.

“I had huge attraction for bracelet and sunglass from my childhood but due to the fear of my father, I couldn’t use those. When I started playing in the national team, for the first time wore this bracelet and I always ponder it as a lucky item for me,” he added.

The auction began on May 16 and ran till May 17 after which the winner was declared.

Through a facebook live ‘Auction 4 Action’ informed they found many bidders who are extremely keen to buy the bracelet in which Mashrafe’s name was engraved.

They also observed the people’s enthusiasm for knowing the price of the bracelet.

“In this ongoing crisis, I decided to put it up for auction. The money, raised from the auction will go to the fund of ‘Narail Express Foundation’ through which it will be spent for the Covid-19 affected people in Bangladesh,” Mashrafe revealed.

‘Auction 4 Action’ earlier put Shakib Al Hasan’s World Cup bat up for auction and that was sold at Tk. 20 Lakh. Recently a bat of Mushfiqur Rahim, with which he scored country’s maiden Test century was sold at for Tk. 17 lakh. Nibco Management Firm conducted Mushfiqur’s auction.

Some other players also auctioned their cricketing memorabilia to raise fund for the Coronavirus affected people.
