Navy conducts disinfectant spray operations
DHAKA, March 28, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Navy today conducted disinfectant spray operations in various parts of the country including in the capital to check the spread of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Under the supervision of the personnel of Bangladesh Navy, a day-long germicide liquid spray operations was conducted at Mirpur-14, Ibrahimpur, Kochukhet, Bhasantek and the adjacent main roads, footpaths, local markets, mosques and other nearby areas, said an ISPR press release.
Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam and other high officials of Navy were present, among others, there.
Later, the Naval Force sprayed germicide liquid water at Banani and Gulshan areas of the capital.
Apart from Dhaka, the Bangladesh Navy members sprayed antiseptic liquid throughout the day today in those areas of Chattogram, Mongla, Kaptai and Khulna which are under their jurisdiction.
Besides, they also created various campaigns to create mass awareness among the people like using loudspeakers to avoid social gathering, maintaining social distancing, to stay at home side by side with distributing leaflets among the people to prevent COVID-19.
The press release said the Imams of the mosques were also given various suggestions to prevent this deadly virus.
Besides, Bangladesh Navy also distributed various relief materials like antiseptic soaps, edible oil, rice, pulse, masks and potatoes among the poor and destitute people.
The Navy is conducting such activities in together with the local administration and such operations will continue until the situation improves, the release added.
