Ctg hoists National Flag on Independence Day

CHATTOGRAM, March 26, 2020 (BSS) – The National Flag was hoisted by different individuals and public organizations in limited scale in Chattogram city and district to mark the Independence Day-2020.

Earlier, the office of Chattogram divisional and district administrations suspended all the scheduled programmes to celebrate the Independence Day, due to the worldwide coronavirus pandemic.

So, several social, cultural, political, individuals and professional organizations couldn’t observe their scheduled programmes like placing of floral wreaths at the altar of the different Shaheed Miners in Chattogram, like the previous years to pay homage to the great sons of the soil.

Meanwhile, the divisional and district administrations of Chattogram organized a national flag hoisting programme at Circuit House in limited scale this morning.

The day’s programmes began through heralding 31-gun salutes on the premises of the circuit house in the early hours of today, Kamal Hossain, additional deputy commissioner(general) told BSS.

Divisional Commissioner A B M Azad, accompanied by Deputy Inspector General of Police Khandoker Golam Faruk, Commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Chattogram Mohammad Ilias Hossain, Superintendent of Chattogram district police S M Rashidul Hoque and valiant Freedom Fighters hoisted the national flag reciting the national anthem in a simple ceremony, held at circuit house this morning.
