Final ODI between Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe reduced to 43-over

SYLEHT, March 6, 2020 (BSS)- The third and final ODI between Bangladesh
and Zimbabwe has been reduced to 43-over a side after the rain stopped at the
Sylhet International Cricket Stadium here on Friday.

After the inspection, it is decided that the match will be restarted at
6.45 pm (local time), two and 38 minutes after the rain interrupted the
proceedings.

By the time when rain arrived, Bangladesh was 182-0 in 33.2 overs, with
Liton Das notching up his third and second century of the series.

Liton Das was batting on 102 with Tamim Iqbal on 79 after the duo rewrote
the record for opening partnership, breaking a 21-year old record.

They eclipsed 170-run partnership between Shahriar Hossain Biddut and
Mehrab Hossain, who also brought the partnership against Zimbabwe in 1999.

Bangladesh, however, had an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series following
a national record of 169-run margin win in the first ODI and a thrilling
four-run victory in the second ODI.

The hosts are aiming to inflict a fourth straight and overall fifth
whitewash on Zimbabwe.
