President for continuing efforts to materialize dreams of Bangabandhu

DHAKA, MARCH 6, 2020 (BSS) – President M Abdul Hamid today urged all to
continue their efforts to materialize dreams of Father of the Nation
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to turn Bangladesh into ‘Sonar Bangla’.

“Bangabandhu’s March 7 speech is one of the everlasting speeches of all
time, which was a great source of inspiration to the freedom-loving people to
jump into the Liberation War to free the entire nation from the Pakistani
subjugation,” he said in a message on the eve of the historic March 7.

Realizing the significance of the speech, the UNESCO on October 30 in 2017,
included it in Memory of the World Register by giving the honor of World’s
Documentary Heritage, he added.

Abdul Hamid said turning the independent and sovereign Bangladesh into a
happy and prosperous Sonar Bangla was Bangabandhu’s cherished dream for his
entire life.

“We will have to continue our efforts to materialize the dream of our
great leader Bangabandhu,” he said, adding that Bangabandhu’s birth centenary
will be observed in 2020 and the golden jubilee of independence will be
observed in 2021.

To turn the country into a middle income one by 2021 and a developed and
prosperous one by 2041, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has announced the
visions 2021 and 2041.

The President urged the people irrespective of party and ideology to work
together to implement the programmes.
