Purchase committee approves 5 proposals

DHAKA, Mar 4, 2020 (BSS) – The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) today approved a total of five proposals including one for appointing berth operators for conducting cargo handling at the Berth No 4 and 8 at GCB areas under package-1 of the Chattogram Port Authority for the next five years.

The approval came at a meeting of the CCGP held at the NEC-1 Conference Room in the city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area with Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal in the chair.

Briefing reporters after the meeting, Cabinet Division Additional Secretary Mst Nasima Begum said that the CCGP approved the proposal for appointing Ms United Trading Company Ltd as the berth operator under Lot 1 with Taka 28.42 crore while Ms Pancharoi Udayan Sangstha Ltd under Lot 2 with Taka 28.39 crore.

The meeting approved the proposal from the Bridges Division for the variation offer made by the consultant firm Tecnica of Spain for conducting the feasibility study and preparing initial design for constructing subway in the capital with an expenditure of Taka 317.94 crore.

The CCGP meeting gave a nod to the proposal for awarding the joint venture of Taher Brothers Ltd, Rana Builders and Majaher Enterprise for conducting various works of package No WD-01 under the Upgradation of Kishoreganj-Karimganj-Chamraghat district highway into due standards with Taka 181.80 crore.

Besides, the proposal for appointing NJS Consultants Company Ltd and Aqua Consultants and Associates Ltd under the Urban Infrastructure Improvement Preparatory Facility (DPHE part) project got approval with Taka 49.13 crore for supplying water to 11 pourashavas in Chandpur, Cumilla, Pabna and Natore districts.

Apart from this, the day’s meeting approved the proposal for re-tendering the Lot No WP-05 under package No MP-01 of the “SASEC Road Connectivity Project: Upgradation of Elenga-Hatikumrul-Rangpur highway into four-lane.”
