RANGPUR, Feb 29, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for Information and
Communication Technology (ICT) Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak has said
Bangladesh is now a middle income and digital country.
“We are not left behind anymore. All of this has become possible because
of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Information Technology (IT) is now available
in the hands of all people who are doing everything sitting at home,” he
said.
The state minister said at the inaugural function of Bangladesh-Turkey
Technical Institute (BTTI) at Barokhata in Hatibandha upazila of Lalmonirhat
on Friday night as the chief guest.
Director of Alokita Bangladesh Foundation and Computer Engineer Iftekhar
Ahmed Masud has established the BTTI at Barokhata as a voluntary organisation
for social welfare with the assistance of Turkish Cooperation and
Coordination Agency (TIKA).
Presided over by local Member of Parliament Md. Motahar Hossain, Turkish
Ambassador to Bangladesh Mustafa Osman Turan and Chief of TIKA in Bangladesh
Dr. Ismail Gundoudou, Deputy Commissioner of Lalmonirhat Md. Abu Jafar,
Superintendent of Police Abida Sultana and Engineer Iftekhar Ahmed Masud
attended the function.
The state minister said Bangladesh would not have been born if Father of
the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was not born, and without Sheikh
Hasina, the country would not have developed so much.
“In the way Bangladesh is moving forward, the young people will not search
for jobs, they will provide jobs as the country is moving forward faster like
information technology,” he said.
He added the present government will establish hi-tech Sheikh Kamal IT
Parks at all 64 districts in the country to train the educated youths for
turning them into IT-skilled professionals for their employment in the IT
industry.
Appreciating the initiative of Engineer Iftekhar Hossain Masud in
establishing the BTTI with Turkish assistance, Palak thanked the Turkish
government and said the institution will turn educated youths of the region
into IT-skilled professionals.
“The talented youths will make them employment-oriented and self-reliant
after getting training in various technical courses from the BTTI,” he said.
The Turkish ambassador said Turkey considers Bangladesh as a friend.
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is a very good human being and she is
working round the clock for the development of the country.
“We hope the BTTI established with the Turkish assistance will play an
important role in advancing the women and youths of Bangladesh,” he said.
Engineer Iftekhar Hossain Masud said the educated male and female youths
will make them skilled in technical education at the BTTI to turn Bangladesh
into a self-reliant and technologically advanced country in the future.
