DHAKA, Feb 28, 2020 (BSS) – President M Abdul Hamid reached Uruguay’s capital Montevideo this afternoon to attend the country’s Presidential Command Transfer Ceremony slated for March 1.
“A VVIP flight carrying the president reached at the Montevideo International Airport on Friday 9:45 am (Uruguay’s local time),” a Bangabhaban spokesman told BSS over phone.
Bangladesh Ambassador to Brazil Md Julfikar Rahman welcomed the President at the airport.
President Hamid left Dhaka on early Wednesday on an 11-day tour to Uruguay and London.
The head of the state reached Montevideo via- London and Brazil.
On his return from Uruguay, President Hamid is scheduled to have some private programmes in London on March 5-6, said a foreign ministry official.
President’s spouse Rashida Khanam and secretaries concerned to the Bangabhaban are accompanying Abdul Hamid in the tour.
President Hamid is expected to return home on March 7.
