PBI files final report in Salman Shah death case

DHAKA, Feb 25, 2020 (BSS) – Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) today
filed its final report into investigation in the case lodged over mysterious
death of film star Salman Shah.

PBI Inspector Sirajul Islam submitted the 600-page report to dispatch wing
of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court, dispatch wing in-charge Sub-Inspector
Abul Hasan Bhuiyan told BSS.

PBI chief Banaz Kumar Majumder yesterday finally drew a conclusion on the
mysterious death case which remained pending for last 24 years, saying Salman
indeed committed suicide over family feud.

The PBI interrogated a total of 44 people and testimonies of 10 people had
been recorded under section 164 of the penal code, the police official said.

Salman died on September 6, 1996 at the age of 25. Following the death, his
father Kamaruddin Ahmed Chowdhury filed an unnatural death (UD) case. He had
later pleaded to turn the UD case into murder.
