300 motorcyclists get digital number plates from BRTA in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Feb 20, 2020 (BSS) – Some 300 motorcyclists here got digital number plate, digital registration and certificates from Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) on Wednesday to drive their motorcycles legally.

A simple function organized by BRTA, Gaibandha circle office, was also held on the premises of District Collectorate Building here in the afternoon.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) attended the function and addressed it as the
chief guest and additional district magistrate Jebun Nahar spoke at the event
as the special guest while inspector of BRTA office here Aminur Rahman
moderated the ceremony.

DC Abdul Matin said the government had recently amended the Motor
Vehicles Act that came into effect from September 01, 2019.

The DC also suggested the motorcyclists to keep their necessary
documents with license regarding motorcycles to avoid unexpected
complexities.

Later, DC Abdul Matin formally inaugurated the digital number plates,
digital registrations and the certificates to the owners of the motorcycles.
