COX’S BAZAR, Jan 21, 2020 (BSS) – Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has become a failed political party and they will never come back.

“BNP claims that they have a huge people’s support but the thing is that they don’t know that BNP has turned into a failed political party. They have been failed to wage any kind of movement and were also defeated in polls,” he said.

The minister came up with the remarks while addressing a rally as the chief guest organized by the district AL leaders at Shahid Daulat Maidan here.

He said the whole world is praising Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s role on Rohingya issue as she gave them shelter on humanitarian ground, adding, “We want a speedy and peaceful solution of the Rohingya repatriation.”

If AL does not exist, the spirit of War of Liberation will be gone, he said, adding that to save the current development pace and democracy of the country, AL is needed.

With District AL President Advocate Sirajul Mostafa in the chair, the rally was addressed, among others, by lawmaker for Sadar-Ramu constituency Saimum Sarwar Komol, lawmakers Asheq Ullah Rafiq and Kaniz Fatema Ahmed and Cox’s Bazar Zilla Parishad Chairman Mostaq Ahmed Chowdhury.
