GTTC, CARE SHOUHARDO program arrange job fair in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, JAN 21, 2020 (BSS) – A job fair under the joint auspices of
Gaibandha Technical Training Center (GTTC), Gaibandha and SHOUHARDO III CARE Bangladesh was held today urging job aspirants to be more serious and active about the demand and information of the jobs.

A discussion on “Linking Potential Employment to the Skilled Youths” was also held at the GTTC campus with its Principal Atiqur Rahman in the chair.

Deputy commissioner (DC) Abdul Matin addressed the function as the chief guest and Superintendent Of Police (SP) Muhammad Towhidul Islam, Principal of Rangpur TTC Lutfar Rahman, chief of party, SHOUHARDO III programme, CARE Bangladesh IshratShabnam, and president of Gaibandha Chamber of Commerce and Industry freedom fighter Maksudar Rahman Sahan also spoke as special guests.

Moderated by Shikha Biswas, senior Technical Coordinator of CARE SHOUHARDO
programme, the function was also addressed, among others, by General Manager
of Standard Groups, Ashraful Islam, Assistant Manager of PRAN RFL Group Dhaka
PallabMoulick, and job applicant Faruqul Islam.

DC Abdul Matin in his speech said the distinguished personalities like
former Bangladesh Bank Governor Ataur Rahman and Indian President APJ
AbulKalam Azad who were born in the poor families, had been well established
in their respective fields through painful and troublesome situation.

The DC also urged the job seekers to join the firms and do their service
works with honesty and sincerity to earn economical profit from the
professional works in a bid to change their socio-economic condition
gradually.

Earlier, regional coordinator of CARE SHOUHARDO program Sajeda Begum said
SHOUHARDO III program funded by United States Agency for International
Development with complementary funding from the government of Bangladesh has
been implementing by SKS Foundation at Sundarganj, Shaghata and Fulchhari
upazilas of the district since January 2016.

” The objectives of the program are to address food and income insecurity,
maternal and child health and nutrition, women’s and youth empowerment and
improve access to public services for the rural poor” , she also said.

Assistant Director of SKS Foundation Khandakar Zahid Sarwar Sohel said the
job seekers were imparted with need based training on various trades
including welding, driving, auto-mobile, electric house wearing, mobile
servicing, tailoring, garments, beautification, motorcycle mechanics, block,
boutique and electronics.

A total of 600 trained youths from Gaibandha and 150 youths from Sirajganj
districts took part in the job fair.
